1) Financial aid for research and development (R&D) and innovation.

Financial aid in the form of a subsidy is available for companies and private sector research organisations that carry out research and development (R&D) projects and innovation initiatives. The aid can cover a percentage of the eligible costs, depending on company size and the type of project or initiative.

Financial aid is available for companies and private research organisations based in Luxembourg in connection with the following activities:

• process innovation, i.e. the implementation of a new or significantly improved production or distribution method;

• organisational innovation in the service industries, i.e. the application of a new organisational method to business practices, workplace organisation or the company's external relations;

• experimental development, i.e. activities aimed at developing new, modified or improved products, processes, services, methods or systems (including the creation of prototypes);

• industrial research, i.e. research aimed at acquiring new knowledge that has yet to be used on a commercial basis, with a view to creating (possibly through further experimental development) new products, processes, services, methods or systems.

 

The amount of the aid provided will be calculated on the basis of the eligible costs of the project or initiative, up to the following caps:
