Pre-publication of Special Action:

"Industrial and Advanced Operating Materials"

 


 

The special action "Industrial and Advanced Operating Materials" concerns the support of research and innovation projects carried out in Greece by research organizations and dynamic domestic companies.


 

The aim of the action is to create the necessary knowledge base in order to promote innovation, increase the competitiveness of the industry and stimulate economic activity at regional and national level.


 

The action has as specific objectives:

  • the focus of efforts and resources on focused S&T priorities, important for the economy and society, in order to maximize the benefits for the Greek economy, in accordance with the priorities of the National RTD Strategy for smart specialization,

  • the development of new or improved products or services or production methods with high added value in order to improve the competitiveness / productivity of companies in the industry and their penetration into new markets,

  • the strengthening and upgrading of the executive / research potential of the enterprises with its participation in RTD activities, which find direct application in the productive process of the enterprises,

  • strengthening the participation of companies in undertaking S&T activities and the more effective interconnection of the country's research system with the productive sectors of the economy,

  • strengthening business-research partnerships and networking of parts of the value chain of materials, technologies and applications to avoid fragmentation of resources.


 

The total public expenditure of the action amounts to € 14 million and its total budget is estimated to amount to € 20 million.

The action is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the OP "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EPANEK)" of the NSRF 2014-2020. The action is part of EPANEK and specifically in Priority Axes 01 and 01C, Investment Priority 1b and Specific Objective 1.1.


 

Eligible beneficiaries for submission of proposals are partnerships of research organizations and companies of all sizes with installation within the Greek territory.


 

The main characteristics of the partnerships are presented in the following Table.

 


 


 


 

 

 

The physical object of the proposals must be part of a specific S&T priority of Annex A '(Inclusion / Exclusion Criteria) of this pre-publication and aim to develop / improve products, processes or services.


 

Eligible costs
 

Aid for research and development projects:

- Staff costs,

- Instrument and equipment costs,

- Expenditure on contract research,

- Additional overheads and other operating expenses.


 

Innovation aid for SMEs:

- Expenditure on obtaining, validating and protecting patents.


 

The action supports projects with a minimum eligible overall budget  € 200,000 and a maximum of € 500,000 with a duration of implementation from eighteen (18) to twenty four (24) months.


 

The amount of subsidy for companies, depending on their size (small, medium or large company), ranges from 65% -80% for industrial research, while from 40% -60% for experimental development. Research institutions are funded with 100% of the project cost.
 

The evaluation criteria of the proposals are the following:

A. Quality - reliability of the institutions

B. Scientific and technological quality of the proposal

C. Impact - Utilization of results
